It’s a fact that a daughter who sincerely wishes well for her parents all her life, is shooed away while last rites of a parent are to be performed. With rising awareness about gender inequality and bias, girls are coming up to take the responsibility of parents. But still the social mindset needs to undergo a drastic change. The popular blessing “putravati bhav” needs to be replaced by
“santanvati bhav”.
