REASI: Government General Zorawar Singh Memorial Degree College Reasi organized bunch of activities including an online lecture on “Understanding climate change and environmental hazards with reference to Jammu and Kashmir”, a sympousim on “Parliament of India” and a rally & poster making competition to celebrate “International Yoga week”.
The first activity i.e. online lecture on “understanding climate change and environmental hazards with reference to Jammu and Kashmir” was organised in collaboration with the Department of Geography and hosted by Renu Thakur and Dr. Poonam Bharti, Assistant Professor (Geography). Dr. Sarfaraz Asgher, Associate Professor in the Department of Geography, University of Jammu was the resource person of the event who presented his lecture on the topic “understanding climate change and environmental hazards with special reference to jammu and kashmir” and threw light on the causes and preventions of climate change. The second activity i.e. symposium was organized in collaboration with the Department of Political Science on the topic of “Parliament of India” in which seven students presented their views on the different aspects and activities of the Indian Parliament. Some students also presented songs and dance on the occasion. The event was co-ordinated by Dr. Zahoor Ahmed Ganaie.
NSS Unit also organized two activities as a part of International Yoga Week celebrations i.e. Poster Making Competition and a rally to spread awareness of yoga among the students. The event was organized under the supervision of Prof. Palvinder Kumari, NSS Programme Officer. Dr. Chander Shekhar, Principal Govt. Degree College, Reasi, was the Chief Guest on the occasion who motivated the students to participate in such type of activities which are really fruitful for the students. Dr. Rajinder Kumar, H.O.D. Geography, Prof. Ajay Kumar, H.O.D. Political Science, Dr. Mukesh Kumar and Dr. Amit Bali were present on the ocassion.
