GDC Budhal celebrates Sports Day

RAJOURI: To mark the celebration of National Sports Day, Government Degree College Budhal on Saturday organised a symposium on ‘Importance of Sports’.
In all, eleven students participated in the symposium from which Shah Nawaz bagged first position whereas Liaqut Ali and Mohammad Shabir Thakur secured second and third positions respectively.
Shabana, Arfana and party presented cultural items got prepared by Abida Parveen during the programme.
Earlier the fuction started with recitation of few verses of the Holy Quran by Liaqul Ali followed by Naat Sharief by Rayesa Chowdhary.
Muddassar Ahmed Dar (PTI) delivered welcome address and also threw light on the importance of the day.
Prof Pariksha Raina, Dr. Mohammad Ramzan and Prof. Altaf Ahmed acted as jury members for the symposium. Prof Mohd Yasir Bhat compiled the result.
Principal of the College, Dr. Shakeel Ahmed Raina presided over the function.
He said, Gandhian model education means physical, mental, social and moral development of a child is a fool proof model of education.
He further said, a strong nation depends upon its strong and competent youth. He advised the students to be careful about their health and never involve themselves in drug addiction and irrelevant activities.
Dr. Mohammad Sajar Malik (HoD Persian) conducted the proceedings of the programme while Prof. Mohad Arif (HoD English) presented vote of thanks. Almost all staff and students attended the function.
