AKHNOOR: NSS unit of GDC Akhnoor organised skit on ” Beti Bacho Beti Padhao (BBBP)” in the adopted village Bomal under the guidance of Prof. Surinder Singh Parihar, Principal of the college. The event was organised by Dr. Sanjay Kapoor (Assistant professor in chemistry), NSS programme officer of the college. The initiative aims to generate awareness and also to promote girl children education. Dr Sanjay Kapoor along with his NSS team started door to door campaign by performing skit in the village. He said that motive behind this programme is to educate underprivileged girls because it is said that when you educate girls, you empower the nation.
The volunteers who performed were Bindiya Verma, Anjali Sharma, Kajal Chib , Akansha Verma, Komal Manhas, Sudha Sharma, Manali Gupta, Arun Kumar, Janvi Sharma, Himanshu Angotra and Kajal Gupta.
Prof. Surinder Singh Parihar, principal of the college lauded the efforts of NSS team for their efforts in the field for awareness generation among common masses about the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign.
