GCW G’Nagar starts JKCET coaching

JAMMU: Government College for Women (GCW), Gandhi Nagar, on Monday started one month JKCET coaching classes for Medical and Engineering courses. A large number of students are registered from the far flung areas.
Dr. Kiran Bakshi, Principal of the College, inaugurated the course in presence of various HoDs of Science faculty. Dr. Kiran advised students to avail this facility from the experienced and highly qualified staff of the college.
She also added that mentoring by this faculty will help you to leave benchmark in the selection process through entrance examination.
Meanwhile, NSS unit of the college by organising a poster making competition in the college on 10th February, 2016 in which large number of students participated and depicted the horrendous effects of narcotics and drugs.
To spread awareness among the students regarding menace of drug abuse, a rally was flagged off on the theme “Narcotics and Drug Abuse in the College Premises” in which large number of students participated and displayed various slogans.
A workshop has been proposed by Yakjah Reconcialation and Development Network (an NGO) on mental health, drug abuse and stress management on the occasion of World Health Day on 7th of April 2016 in which students will be educated about the importance of health and wellness.
