GCET students protest against dearth of facilities

JAMMU: Students of Government College of Engineering and Technology (GCET), Chak Bhalwal held a protest against dearth of facilities and lackadaisical attitude of college administration.

Around 600 students, after boycotting their classes marched towards Press Club Jammu disrupting traffic on Jammu-Akhnoor highway besides creating chaos near Dogra Chowk area on the opening day of Civil Secretariat in winter capital of J and K.

Addressing the gathering, the representatives of students demanded faculty for all streams, SRTC bus service, rich library, ambulance service, students’ mess, functional placement cell, sports funds, internet connectivity, uninterrupted power supply, Automatic Telling Machine (ATM), and stationery shop. They threatened to intensify their agitation in case their demands were not met at the earliest.
