Gangyal shoot out; 2 arrested with country made pistol

JAMMU: Two accused involved in last February Gangyal shootout have been arrested while one country made pistol along with three live cartridges and a sharp edged weapon were recovered from their possession during a raid on Saturday evening.
Acting on specific inputs, police team led by Gangyal SHO Inspector Ajay Jamwal conducted a raid and nabbed Vikramjit Singh alias Vicky, son of Mohan Singh and Pankaj Singh alias Murga, residents of Sehora.
On 14 February, 2015, these accused along with three other co-accused had opened fire on one Gamma Sardar of Gangyal. FIR 37/15 was registered against the five accused under Sections 307, 341, 323, 147 RPC, 3/25 and 4/25 Arms Act.
Both these accused had gone underground after committing the crime. During their sustained interrogation, police recovered one country made pistol along with three live cartridges and one sharp edged weapon from their possession. “Efforts are being made to nab the absconders”, police said.
