Gang rape accused denied bail

JAMMU: Presiding Officer, Fast Track Court, Y P Kotwal on Tuesday rejected the bail application of Anil Kumar Billa, who was arrested in an alleged gang rape case.
According to the police case, the victim asked one of the accused Mukesh to drop her at Jagti as there was no mode of conveyance available at around 9.30 pm from Jewel Chowk. He instead of taking her to Jagti, forcibly took her to a house at Muthi where two more boys were present. All the three after consuming liquor forced the victim to also take liquor and thereafter the trio including the applicant committed gang rape.
Kotwal after hearing both the sides observed that during the course of investigation offences of abduction, illegal confinement and gang rape have been established and the investigation of the case has not completed as yet the statement of witnesses are not recorded. With these observations Court rejected the bail application. JNF
