‘GAD asked to expedite SRO-43 cases’

SRINAGAR: Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Public Works Department, Abdul Rehman Veeri on Friday informed that the General Administration Department (GAD) and Deputy Commissioners have been advised to expedite SRO-43 cases with a periodic review.
Replying to a question by Mohammad Abbas Wani in the Legislative Assembly, the minister said that in order to expedite the pending SRO-43 cases, the government has directed the GAD and the Deputy Commissioners to periodically review the cases pending in their departments.
The minister said to ensure that all issues/procedural formalities and identification of vacancies etc are settled in a time- bound manner, direction has been given that every case should be finalised within 120 days. He informed that the Departments and DCs have been advised to circulate the checklist to ensure that all requisite documents are submitted with the proposal for compassionate appointments. He said that pending cases also include the cases where NOKs of the deceased Government employees have not acquired the requisite eligibly for the appointment within the stipulated period of five years from the date of death of the deceased and do not fall within the ambit of SRO-43/Relaxation Policy adopted by the Government since 2004 and 2007. Yawar Dilawar Mir in his supplementary question urged time-bound settlement of SRO cases.
