Futile talks
Separatists snubbing All-Party Delegation led by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh was not only on the expected lines but also as announced by them. The point is why they should talk to the Government of India team though a political one and that too without the consent of the masters sitting across the borders? They will not talk to anyone coming from New Delhi because if they talk on Kashmir the line of thought is not acceptable and what Delhi tells them that too also not agreeable. So there is no point in keep talking. The central team of BJP and CPI (M) for the first time must have tasted the separatists’ spurn. What a fall in dignity of Indian leadership? Till date central leadership especially BJP after coming to the power never accepted the separatists as a part of negotiation process and today they are willing to talk to anyone and everyone who matters. Peace cannot be bartered like that. It has a price and now after keeping the Valley on boil for more than two months how early Delhi is expecting to barter it with ‘Kashmiri leaders’? The ideologically and diabolically opposite elements trying to find a semblance is the irony of the whole Kashmir situation, which has outgrown by all means. Seeing the prevailing conditions and the way protests are carried forward daily by the youth one is sure that there is neither political leadership nor a solution to the situation. There is no doubt that the youth of the Valley are self-sustained to continue the agitation and there is no doubt that the external forces are trying to fish in troubled waters of Kashmir. In this background one fails to understand what was the urgency and desperation of the central leadership to hold talks when even the mainstream parties were apprehensive of the outcome. The central leadership should have taken separatists in confidence before embarking on peace Yatra. Today the situation has reached a point where finding the way out of the Kashmir abyss looks difficult. Political leadership appears to have taken a bigger bite and the situation has come to point today neither they can chew nor they can swallow the peace pie.
