FS Deptt hosts awareness programme on RUCO

RAJOURI: An awareness program on Reduction of salt, sugar and fats(RUCO) in daily diet and regarding food fortification as well as a Registration/License camp was on Tuesday organised here by the Department of Food Safety. The event was organised on the directions of the Commissioner Food and Drug Administration JK UT, Shakeel Ul Rehman and Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal and under the overall supervision of the Assistant Commissioner FS, Ajeet Singh. The event witnessed the participation of a large number of people from different walks of life and of different trades. They were sensitized regarding the benefits of consuming less salt, sugar and fats, using reused cooking oil in the kitchen and their adverse effects on health. Moreover, the participants were also motivated to use fortified food articles and avoid junk food and eat healthy food. They were also educated about the adverse effects of smoking in public places as well in families. During the camp 22 registration certificates were also issued to small vendors.
