BHADARWAH: Fresh snowfall was witnessed at several places along the upper reaches of the mountainous Doda district last evening.
“Several areas in the Bhadarwah tehsil of Doda district witnessed fresh snowfall last evening. At several places 2-3 inches of snow was recorded,” an official of the meteorological department said.
“The areas where fresh snowfall was witnessed included Kansar, Shalkhoja, Padri, Katyara, Thanala, Khamitop, Alpatri and Kenthidhar”, he said.
“The fresh snowfall has brought down the temperature in the area forcing many people to take out their sweaters and jackets from the closets,” he said.
“Meanwhile, the fresh spell of snowfall will have a negative impact on the agriculture and horticulture sectors of the area”, the official said. (PTI)
