Four of a family dead, 2 injured after vehicle fell into gorge

KISHTWAR: In a tragic incident, four members of a family got killed while two other injured after a vehicle they were traveling in rolled down into a gorge in Dachan area of Kishtwar District on Tuesday evening.
According to reports, a Maruti car they were travelling met with an accident at dachhan area of district kishtwar on Tuesday evening.
According to an official, Maruti car (JK01K-5426) was on it’s way towards Soundhar when it met with an accident at Hori Nallah Dachan, in which four persons of a family died on the spot while two others received seriously injuries.
The official said, “soon after the accident, Police along with locals rushed to the spot and shifted injured persons to District Hospital Kishtwar for treatment.”
Meanwhile, Police has taken the cognizance of the incident.
The deceased have been identified as Fatima Begum, wife of Iflal Wani, their son Altamash Wani and two daughters Madiya Wani and Radia Banoo. All are residents of Sounder Dachhan and all the dead bodies of deceased have been shifted to Sounder Dachhan.
The Injured persons have been identified as Iflal wani, son of Sanaulah Wani and his daughter Khatija Banoo, residents of Sounder Dachhan. They have been and shifted to district hospital Kishtwar for treatment.
In a heart-wrenching incident, two young brothers from Tehsil Chilli Pingal in Doda district tragically drowned in a stream. The Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) Vice President and former Minister, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori, has expressed profound grief and sorrow over this unfortunate event.
Ghulam Mohammad Saroori, in his statement, expressed deep condolences to the bereaved family. He empathized with their immense loss and urged the community to exercise caution, especially during the rainy season. Saroori appealed to the public to refrain from allowing children to bathe in streams to prevent such tragic incidents.
