Four drug peddlers arrested

GANDARBAL: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday arrested two persons in Ganderbal District with 1500 bottles of Codeine.
A police official from Ganderbal District said that during Naka, a police party of Kheer Bhawani headed by Dy SP headquarters Rameez Raja tried to stop one Maruti car.
The car was heading towards Ganderbal and when waved to stop he escaped and after a chase for some time the car along with two people seized and 1500 Codeine bottles recovered from it, the officer said.
Meanwhile, two drug peddlers were arrested in Bandipora and six kilograms of Charas was recovered from their possession.
A police party of Police Station Sumbal headed by SDPO Rashid Akbar and SHO Mehboob Hussain laid a Naka near Tangpora, and intercepted a Maruti 800 bearing registration number JK01V-0401. On search, six Kilograms of Charas was recovered.
Two persons who were identified as Afroz Ahmad Wani, resident of Naninara Sumbal and Mohammad Amin Hajam, resident of Tangpora, Sumbal boarding the vehicle were arrested. A case FIR number 84/2016 under section 8/20 NDPS was registered against them and investigation was taken up.
