Fortis Hospital develops new technique for knee surgery

JAMMU: Senior Consultant and Surgeon Knee Replacement from Fortis Escorts Hospital Amritsar, Dr Ranjit Singh said that he has innovated a new technique for knee replacement surgery. Talking to reporters, he said, with this new technique there is almost zero pain, zero bleeding and zero bed rest after surgery. Patient starts walking around two hours after knee replacement surgery and the very next day he is made to even climb stairs, Dr Ranjit asserted.
The time required for surgery is just 15 minutes and patient gets discharged in just three days after surgery, he added. Dr Ranjit further added that he infiltrates a unique cocktail of drugs in the knee which gives faster recovery and reduces pain and bleeding to almost zero. The success rate of knee replacement with this technique is more than 99 per cent and in two weeks time patient is able to achieve near normal life and is able to walk independently without any support and can even sit cross legged, he mentioned.
