Former MC EO booked for illegal appointments

JAMMU: State Vigilance Organisation (SVO) on Thursday booked a former Executive Officer of Municipal Council Baramulla for allegedly making illegal appointments in 2007.
The SVO registered FIR 19/16 in Police Station Vigilance Organization Kashmir, on the basis of a verification conducted into the alleged illegal appointments made by Ghulam Mohammad Lone, resident of Batwina Ganderbal, the then Executive Officer, Municipal Council Baramulla in 2007.
The Executive Officer, without any competence/set procedures and in gross violation of framed rules/regulations made a number of illegal regularizations in Municipal Council Baramulla, and abused his official position under conspired plan in league with beneficiaries, identified as Feroz Ahmad Nadaf, resident of Bandipora, Bashir Ahmad Malik, resident of Baramulla, Manzoor Ahmad Bakshi, resident of Baramulla, Bashir Ahmad Ratehr, resident of Wagoora and Gulzar Ahmad Khan, resident of Kanishpora Baramulla.
These beneficiaries have been regularized on regular pay bands and their salaries have been drawn and released by the Executive Officer, who has also attested the service particulars of these accused illegal beneficiaries.
The omission and commissions on the part of the above named public servants constitute offences punishable under section 5(1) (d) read with 5(2) Prevention of Corruption Act. and section 120-B, RPC.
