Former District Judge appointed as receiver to conduct CCI elections

JAMMU: 2nd Additional District Judge Jammu Virender Singh Bhau has appointed Suresh Sharma, former District & Sessions Judge as receiver for conducting election of Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CCI).
After detailed evaluation all facts and circumstances, especially in light of COVID-19 scenario, 2nd Additional District Judge Jammu Virender Singh Bhou observed that it is deemed fit to appoint a receiver for elections of CCI. Accordingly, Suresh Sharma, a former District & Sessions Judge, is hereby nominated and appointed as receiver for a period of four months with effect from November 1, 2020 for purpose of conducting election of the office bearers of Chamber. The receivership period of four months is fixed keeping in view COVID-19 related scenario which may require very detailed mode of convening meetings of sizeable membership of CCI. The receiver Suresh Sharma shall be competent to work out method of conducting election in fitness of things prevailing due to COVID-19 guidelines of District Administration.
Court further directed that Civil Administration under Deputy Commissioner Jammu and District Police under Sr. Suptd. of Police shall be bound to provide assistance as may be requisitioned by receiver Suresh Sharma in discharge of his office of receiver.
The court further directed that Manish Gupta shall render full ministerial assistance to receiver Suresh Sharma for sake of ensuring the smooth working of his duty as receiver.
Court further ordered that receiver shall be entitled to monthly receivership fee of Rs. 1 lakh. Copy of this order be also served and notified to DC Jammu and SSP Jammu for acting in compliance.
