Former Chairman PHD CCI calls on LG

JAMMU: Rahul Sahai, former Chairman, PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry Jammu called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhawan on Tuesday. He apprised the Lt Governor on various important issues pertaining to trade and industry sector of Jammu.
Sahai briefed Manoj Sinha on the current state of trade and industry in Jammu and presented key suggestions to enhance the business environment, drive economic growth, and promote industrial development across the Union Territory. Sahai, who has held various positions including the Chairmanship of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) J&K Council and the PHDCCI Jammu, currently Chairman STAIRS (A National Sports Promotion organization) and the Transport Nagar Association. Known for his strategic vision and dedication to advancing industry, he has been a strong advocate for creating a conducive atmosphere for businesses in Jammu & Kashmir.
The discussion with the Lieutenant Governor focused on a range of topics critical to Jammu’s trade and industrial landscape, including infrastructure development, policy reforms, ease of doing business, and initiatives to attract investment into the region.
Rahul Sahai highlighted several pertinent suggestions aimed at addressing the challenges faced by local industries and enhancing their competitiveness and reiterated need of extending NCSS package with Budget for local industries.
He emphasized the need for stronger industry support mechanisms, improved access to credit for MSMEs, and better transport and logistics facilities, which would play a crucial role in bolstering economic growth. Furthermore, Sahai stressed the importance of incentivizing businesses to invest in Jammu & Kashmir and proposed measures to create a more industry-friendly environment that aligns with the region’s unique opportunities and potential.
The Lieutenant Governor expressed his appreciation for Sahai’s insights and his dedication to the development of Jammu’s trade and industry.
Sinha reaffirmed his commitment to supporting initiatives that would drive sustainable economic progress and create new opportunities for local businesses and entrepreneurs.
