JAMMU: The Food and Allied Workers Union Jammu held a protest at CAPD Store Nehru Market. The workers working in all the CAPD stores assembled at new store and shouted slogans for early redressal of the long pending genuine demands.
While addressing the workers, the President of the Union, Bishan Dass said that despite Minister of CAPD and Tribal Affairs Zulfkar Ali’s direction the concerned officials seem to be bent upon callous attitudes towards the workers.
Bishan said that the workers are demanding for the enhancement of loading/unloading bag rates, grant of Minimum Guarantee Wages at par with FCI pattern, issue of the engagement orders of 17 workers of Muffasil Depots and 12 workers for replacement of stores and release of wages before 10th of each month.
He appealed to the concerned officers to settle their issues failing which they shall be forced to continue their struggle.
The leaders of the Union who addressed the workers include Nazim Din, Harminder Singh, Om Parkash, Pyare Lal and Dev Raj.
