FMPHWs threaten self-immolation

JAMMU: Fed up with the non-serious attitude of State Government, Female Multipurpose Health Workers (FMPHWs), who are on Dharna for the last 24 days, threatened with setting themselves on fire in batches from 14th June if the government fails to redress their issues.
A large number of FMPHWs assembled in Madam Shashi Bala Memorial Park, Directorate of Health Services Jammu under the leadership of Neelam Kumari General Secretary, Jammu Kashmir FMPHWs Association and Sushil Sudan, President JKMEF and shouted slogans in support of their demands. The FMPHWs alleged that they are struggling for release of their salary which is their democratic right but instead the authorities are victimising them which is also violation of human right.
Later, FMPHWs and leaders of JKMEF took protest rally from DHS Office Complex towards city. In the meantime, the Jammu and Kashmir Medical Employees Federation has given a call of Jammu Chalo on 14th June, 2017.
Others present were Jarnail Choudhary, Bharat Bhushan, Parfullat Singh, Rohit Seth, Harpal Singh, Jaswinder Singh, Mohd. Saleem, Kulraj Bittu, Anoop Singh, Yougal Bakshi, J.P Singh, Pawan Kumar, Rekha Rani, Soma Devi, Nirmal Kour, Suriya Bano, Kavita, Meena Devi, Savita, Promila, Mamta, Adarsh Gupta, Vishal Patil, Dalip Kumar and Surjit Kumar.
