JAMMU: Joint Action Committee General Category (JAC GC) on Sunday expressed its resentment over alleged non compliance of SC directions in the appointment of Director Animal Husbandry Department (AHD).
In a meeting of the Committee presided over by Narayan Singh, President Rajput Sabha and attended by Ved Prakash Sharma, President Brahman Sabha and other leaders including employees of various government departments, the members alleged that Mohammad Yousuf Chaproo, who has assumed the charge of Director AHD belonged to reserved category and falls at Serial No. 93 in the seniority list of the department. “His appointment has been made by flouting the directions of Supreme Court that status quo in the case of extending reservation in promotions should be maintained”, the members reportedly alleged.
The meeting further alleged that deserving candidate belonging to general category namely Dr. Kewal Krishan Bhardawaj, existing at Serial No. 20 in the seniority list has been ignored by the higher authorities on the behest of Minister Incharge, Animal Husbandry Department and made to stagnate at his current post.
The JAC GC unanimously resolved to take the fight to streets and file contempt proceedings against the erring officers and ministers, if the directions of Supreme Court are flouted and undue benefit is bestowed by any means to the reserved category candidates.
