Floral tributes paid to Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar on 125th birth anniversary

JAMMU: Various organizations on Thursday paid rich tributes to Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar on his 125 Birth Anniversary here.
Lashing out at those forces who are opposed to the philosophy of Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar but now try to identify themselves with his birth anniversary celebrations for political vested interests, Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Chief G.A Mir said it was Congress Party under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi and Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru who valued the philosophy of Dr. Ambedkar and utilised his services for the nation by offering him opportunity to head the Constitution Drafting Committee besides as first Law Minister of free India.
Mir was addressing party workers in a function organised as part of culmination of year long 125th Birth Anniversary celebrations of Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar, here on Thursday.
Taking dig at Modi Government and BJP, Mir said that those who are showing least respect to the democratic values and the Constitution, by arbitrary and undemocratic removal of duly elected opposition Congress ruled states, can’t be followers of Dr. Ambedkar and his Constitution.
“It is Congress Party which has implemented the philosophy and concept of Dr. Ambedkar by giving representation and reservation to the SCs/STs/women in the various democratic institutions including in Panchayat Raj,” Mir asserted.
He referred to the implementation of 73rd and 74th Amendment in the Constitution as extending of same principle and philosophy in the basic democratic institutions in the country and State and demanded holding of early elections to the PRIs in the State.
Paying tributes to Dr. Ambedkar and remembering his great contributions in the framing of the Indian Constitution as Chairman of its Drafting Committee, PCC chief described him as the architect of Constitution of India, which is the best document in the World.
Mir offered a pledge on the occasion to the gathering, which he described as a true and sincere tribute to the Father of Indian Constitution.
Senior Vice President PCC, Sham Lal Sharma paid tributes to Dr. Ambedkar and said that his philosophy needs to be understood and implemented in the right spirit in order to bring about harmony and togetherness in the society.
He felt the need to educate the masses about the role of Dr. Ambedkar and Congress Party in order to win back the support of weaker sections towards Congress.
Recalling the steps taken by the Congress Party to follow the philosophy and ideals of Dr. Ambedkar, former Dy. Chief Minister, Tara Chand referred to maintaining reservation for SC in all parts of the State during Congress-NC rule whereby the SCs are availing the reservation in all districts of the State.
He lashed out at the caste based political parties who exploited the down trodden sections away from the Congress Party and asked them to strengthen Congress Party which is the real messiah of the down trodden sections of the society.
The celebration was organised by Dr. Ambedkar Celebration Committee under the chairmanship of former Minister and Vice President Mula Ram.
Prominent leaders of the party who were present on the occasion and paid tributes include Jahangir Mir, Aijaz Ahmed Khan (Dy CLP Leader), Raman Bhalla, Kanta Bhan, Asgar Karbalai(MLA), Ch. Akram (MLA), Swarn Lata, Ravinder Sharma, Rajnish Sharma, Balwan Singh, Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma, Yogesh Sawhney, Manjit Singh, Hari Singh Chib, Shiv Kumar Sharma, Pranav Shagotra and Neeraj Kundan.
Jammu and Kashmir National Conference on Thursday paid glowing tributes to Bharat Ratna Baba Sahib Dr B.R Ambedkar, describing him as an ambassador of peace and messiah of down-trodden who relentlessly worked for social justice and equality.
The function was organised by SC/OBC Cell Chairman Babu Rampaul on the occasion 125th Birth Anniversary Dr. B.R Ambedkar.
Leading senior leaders in paying floral tributes to the architect of Constitution of India, Additional General Secretary Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamaal and Chairman SC/OBC Cell Babu Rampaul said that best tribute to Baba Sahib would be to work for strengthening bonds of amity and brotherhood between various segments of society.
Recalling services of Dr Ambedkar to Indian society, former Minister Babu Rampaul eulogised him as a great social reformer and leader of depressed classes, who worked for the uplift of downtrodden all his life.

The Zonal President JKNPP Neeraj Gupta organised a function at Ambedar Chowk here to celebrate the 125th Birth Anniversary of Baba Saheb Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar and paid tributes to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, creator of the Constitution of India.

National Panthers Party which was founded 34 years back in J and K by a Congress legislator, Prof. Bhim Singh organised the show at Jantar Mantar to pay homage to Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar.
Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu in collaboration with National Service Scheme Campus Unit paid tributes to Dr. B.R Ambedkar by organising a symposium on the topic ‘Role of Dr. B.R Ambedkar in Shaping Modern India’ at the University of Jammu.
Students from different colleges and the departments of the University of Jammu participated in this event and paid tributes to Ambedkar through presentations.
Sangpriya from GCW Parade, Afshan from GCW, Gandhi Nagar and Sanam from Department of Sociology, University of Jammu stood first, second and third respectively.
Prof. Indu Kilam and Dr. Savita Nayyar were the judges for the event.
Prof Jigar Mohammad, Dean Research Studies and Chief Guest at the valedictory function, complimented the participants and felicitated the winners.

All India Backward Class Union (AIBCU) celebrated birth anniversary of Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar in a progarmme held at Town Hall here on Thursday.
The programmes was presided over by Sajad Hussain Ahanger, Distt. President Kulgam in which Abdul Majid Malik, Central Committee Members Team was the Chief Guest.

To celebrate 126th birthday of Bharat Ratna Baba Saheb Dr B.R. Ambedkar, a grand function was organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Batwal Welfare Association (JKBWA) at Village Ban near Akhnoor.
Praising Ambedkar, the Association Chairman Sub. Maj. Ramesh Sargotra said he was an embodiment of simplicity and struggled throughout his life to improve the socio-economic status of the marginalised sections of the society.

The BJP commenced the 125th birth anniversary of Bharat Rattan Baba Sahib Dr. B. R. Ambedkar by organizing functions and programmes spread over next ten days in the entire country.
These programmes have been so chosen that various welfare schemes initiated by NDA government and the State coalition government get highlighted and also to create awareness about the all round personality of Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar.
BJP State President & MLA Sat Sharma CA initiated the ten-day long programme in the State by presiding over the largely attended function named “National Integration Day” and organized by BJP State SC Morcha at Megh Saddar Sabha, Old Rehari, Jammu.
BJP Member of Parliament & Former State President Jugal Kishore Sharma presided over the function organized at Nowshera to celebrate the birth anniversary of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar and which was also attended by MLA Nowshera Ravinder Raina and MLC Vibodh Gupta.

National Students Union of India (NSUI) celebrated 125th birth anniversary of B.R Ambedkar, where stationary items were distributed among students. The programme was organised by Naresh Digra, (Assembly president, NSUI Marh) in the presence of Neeraj Kundan (state President, NSUI J&K).
On the occasion Tehsildar (Mandal) was the chief guest while M.L Rana (Block Medical Officer, Sohanjna) was the guest of honour.
Abishek (State secterary NSUI J&K), Aftab keen, Honey, Vishal, Narinder, Happy, Raju and Rahul were also present.
Jammu Pragti Manch today celebrated 125th Birthday of Bharat Ratan Dr. B.R Ambedkar with great joy and enthusiasm. Manch members under the chairmanship of Brij Mehra, President Jammu Pragti Manch assembled at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chowk here and paid tributes to Dr Ambedkar.
Vijay Anand, a noted social activist and senior PDP leader was the Chief Guest.
The speakers were Brij Mehra, Ramesh Tak and Vijay Anand.
The programme was also attended by Ramesh Mehra, Neeraj, Ananya, Bablu, Sachin Bhagat, Vinod Pandey, Pawan Dogra, Darshan Lal, Amar Nath, Harish, Badal, Uttam, Pinku, Rakesh Sharma, Sonu Gupta, Somnath, Paali Kumar, Raju and Jinda.

The programme was organised by Chairman of Trust Guru Nabha Dass ji Maharaj, Maheshar Dardi and Senior Vice President Vijay Kumar Magotra.

The programme started with floral tribute and Bhim Vandana, followed by a skit on the life of Baba Sahib Bhim Rao Ambedkar and a cultural programme presented by the children of Ambedkar Convent School.
Among those who spoke on the occasion include Dr Mohan K Atri, Dr. Rajesh Bhagat, Manmeet K. Mottan, Dr Jaswant Singh, Sunita Bangotra and Gian Chand Dogra.
All India Confederation of SC/ST /OBC Organizations, unit Tawi Land, paid homage to Dr. Ambedkar on his 125th birth anniversary here in the premises of R.M Tagore School Bhure Chuck.
The programme was organised under the chairmanship of Romesh Kaith and Tehsildar Ravinder Kumar Anand, Manohar Lal BMO and Retd Col Som Nath. Sarpanchs Bishan Dass Bhagat, Baru Ram Bhagat and Naib Sarpanch Sham Lal also participated.

While underlining the role of Baba Sahib Bhim Rao Ambedkar in empowering women in India, MoS for Education, Priya Sethi said that Ambedkar was a champion of women rights who worked for giving equal rights to the women and fought for ensuring that basic rights are ensured to the females.
She said the Ambedkar linked progress of community and society with the degree of progress achieved by the women folk of that society.

Students and teachers paid rich tributes to Dr. B.R Ambedkar, the Principle Architect of Indian Constitution and a social reformer. Cultural programme featuring speeches by teachers and students on Dr. Ambedkar was also organised.
The Trustee, Ruchi Charak garlanded the picture of Dr. Ambedkar and urged the students to take inspiration from the life of Baba Sahib and to work towards protecting the rights of others.
