Flood fury: Soz hackled in Srinagar, flees
SRINAGAR: Pradesh Congress Committee Chief Saif-ud-Din Soz on Tuesday got a shock of his life when he was hackled by angry people taking shelter in a make shift camp in Srinagar suburbs.
The angry inmates virtually hackled the Congress Chief and raised slogans against him. Some of youngsters kept chanting “Go to the hell ”
The people complained that the Coalition Government has miserably failed to tackle the situation arising in the wake of history’s worst ever flood as the rescued people have been left to the mercy of God .
“We have not being provided food or drinking water,” said an elderly inmate while exposing anguish over the chaos prevailing in the entire city.
They questioned the relevance of civil administration saying, ” It (administration) seems to have been washed away by the floods,
On sensing public anger growing, Saif-ud-Din Soz along with his couple of supporters found it prudent to escape from the scene as they apprehended manhandling by the enraged people. Some of the youngsters chased away the fleeing Congress leaders up to their vehicles as there were no security personnel deployed with the VIPs.
Many of the inmates were highly appreciating the Army, Indian Airforce, the Navy and the NDRF for their timely help to the people in distress.
It will be pertinent to mention here that the coalition ministers and mainstream leaders have gone missing in the wake of floods and the entire responsibility of saving the hapless people is either to the centre or the multiple security agency operating in Kashmir.
These agencies have already evacuated over 50 thousand trapped people from the worse affected localities of Jawahar Nagar, Shivpora, Indira Nagar, Rajbgah, Nettipora, etc.
