Five nabbed with Ganja, heroin, poppy straw

JAMMU: Under operation Sanjeevni, police on Saturday arrested five narco smugglers at two Nakas and recovered 1.50 Kg Ganja, 5.5 grams heroin and 2. 5 kg poppy straw from them. As per the details, a police party laid a Naka at Gangyal Garden Sec 2 intercepted a pedestrian and during his search, recovered one and a half kg Ganja from his possession. The accused was identified as Shashi Kumar son of Shiya Ram Sahu resident of Chattisgarh at present staying at Marble Market and a case vide FIR No 109 under section 8/20 NDPS Act was registered. The arrest was made by Inspector Aejaz Wani under the supervision of SDPO South Sachin Gupta, SP South Shezad Slaria and Sunil Gupta SSP Jammu.
In another case, a police party of Police Post Gadigarh headed by SI Jasvinder Singh, In-Charge Police Post during Naka checking at Dharap apprehended an Alto car (JK18-9598) along with four persons (including driver and side seated). On search of the vehicle, around 5.5 grams heroin like substance and approx. 2.5 Kgs. poppy straw was recovered.
All the four were identified as Adil Hussain Dar son of Nazir Ahmed Dar resident of Qazigund, Nazir Ahmed Dar son of Abdul Rehman Dar resident of Qazigund, Asif Hussain son of Gh. Ahmed Dar resident of Qazigund and Nazir Ahmed son of Mohd Munshi resident of Darshopur Miran Sahib.
A case vide FIR No. 194/2016 under section 8/15/21/22/29 NDPS Act was registered against them at Police Station Satwari. The whole operation was supervised by SHO Police Station Satwari, Inspr. Manjeet Singh and SDPO City South, Sachin Gupta under the directions of SP City South, Jammu Shazad Ahmed Slaria. It is learnt during preliminary enquiry from accused that these drugs were to be distributed amongst the Narco-paddlers or consumers of Jammu.
