RAJOURI /KATHUA: At least nine persons were killed and five others injured on Tuesday in three separate accidents in Rajouri and Kathua districts.
Five members of a family were killed when the car they were travelling in rolled down near village Dalogra on Jammu – Poonch National Highway in the morning.
The Alto Car (JK12-7280), which was on its way from Jammu to Mendhar rolled down from road near village Dalogra wherein four members of the family died on the spot and the fifth succumbed to his injuries in District Hospital Rajouri.
The victims have been identified as Mohd Bashir (65), son of Mohd Hussain, his sons Sajjad Ahmed Khan (45Zahoor Ahmed (14) and Sanam Kouser (17) besides son and daughter of Sajjad Ahmed Khan.
Their bodies were handed over to the family members after completing legal formalities. Rajouri Police has registered the case for investigation.
In another incident, a doctor, a patient and driver of the Ambulance (JK02BD-5829) belonging to VCare Diagnostics were killed when the vehicle, on its way from Katra to Chandigarh, met with an accident at Chadwal, Kathua.
The victims have been identified as Dr Manav Gupta, patient Vishal Anthal, son of Satish Kumar, resident of Reasi and driver Pawan Kumar Choudhary, son of Swaran Singh, resident of Miransahib, Jammu.
The five injured identified as Rahul Dev , Vikas Kumar, Ashraf Shah, Sanjeev Kumr and Deepak Kumar have been shifted to Government Medical College Hospital Jammu.
In another mishap, an 11-year- old boy, identified as Faizan, son of Mohd Mushtak, resident of Rajouri was crushed by an over speeding Tata Sumo (JK11A-2511). The vehicle fled from the spot but was later seized by the police. Driver of the Tata Sumo has gone underground.
