JAMMU: The Departmental Promotion Committee has cleared the names of five Deputy Inspector Generals (DIGs) for the promotion to the next rank of Inspector General of Police (IGP).
According to sources, the names of DIG Jammu-Kathua Range Ashkoor Wani, DIG Doda-Ramban Range Nissar Ahmad, DIG Anantang Nitesh Kumar and two DIGs on deputation S R Samuel and Anand Jain have been cleared. The orders are expected after the Cabinet meets in Srinagar on June 7.
