Couple killed, son missing as car falls in river

Jammu: A couple was killed and their son remained untraced when their vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a river in Poonch district. In another mishap, five CRPF personnel got injured when the Gypsy in which they were travelling hit a stationary truck near Chanderkote in Ramban District.
STATE TIMES correspondent reported from Poonch that Karan Dogra, son of Vijay Dogra, resident of Hari Market Jammu and his wife Sheetal were killed while their son Avyaan is still missing. However, it was apprehended that the child might have swept away by the strong current of water in the river.
Another co-traveller, Rohit Sharma, son of Jagdish Lal, resident of Paloura, Jammu got injured in the mishap.
The incident occurred around 10:25 AM when they were on their way to Mandi from Jammu and their car skidded off the road and fell into a river at Timbra, police said.
The injured has been admitted to district hospital in Poonch, they said.
Meanwhile, five CRPF personnel of 98 Bn got injured when the Gypsy in which they were travelling hit a stationary truck near Chanderkote in Ramban District.
According to a report, a Gypsy bearing No. MH31AG-9502 on its way from Jammu to Srinagar hit a standing Truck bearing No JK21A-1244 near Makhan Dhaba Chanderkote, resulting in injuries to five CRPF men.
All the injured were shifted to District Hospital Ramban. DDC Ramban Farooq Shah Bukhari also visited hospital to enquire about condition of injured persons and personally monitored rescue operation.
After primary treatment all the injured were shifted to GMC Jammu by helicopter.
The injured persons have been identified as SI Sohan Singh, son of Sher Singh resident of Bihar, HC Jeet Kumar, son of Bachan Lal, resident of Gurdaspur Punjab, HC Lal Tudu, son of Om Singh, HC Jasbir Singh, son of Lachlan Dass, resident of Hoshiarpur Punjab and Driver Ct Jasbir Singh, son of Payar Singh, resident of Hoshiarpur Punjab.
