First State Indo Oman Shotokan Karate-Do concludes

KATHUA: Balak Niketan Higher Secondary School (Logate Sahar) Kathua emerged winner in First State Indo Oman Shotokan Karate–Do Championship 2014, organised at Modern Public School Kathua, here on Monday.
About 250 students from different districts took part in the championship.
Balak Niketan Higher Secondary School Kathua bagged 19 medals including eight gold, six silver and five bronze. Second place was bagged by Shishu Model High School Sawan Chack with five gold, six silver and five bronze medals while Darvesh Academy High School Mangloor got five gold two silver and three bronze.
RMC School Budhi bagged three gold, one silver and six bronze medals; Angels High School Dayalachak bagged one gold , four silver and five bronze; Little Flower High School Hatli More won a gold, five silver and six bronze; Modern Public High School Kathua got one gold, five silver and three bronze; Shivgian High School Barwal won one gold, two silver and one bronze; RMC Higher Secondary School Patel Nagar Kathua got one gold, three silver and four bronze; Vivek Academy High School Sahar Logate won one gold, one silver and five bronze.
Anirudh, a student Knit Green Model Academy Sangrampur, got best student award while the best instructor award went to Sanjeev Kumar.
The championship was organised under the supervision Technical Director Ravinder Singh.
Organiser, Saif Ali, Tournament Director, Bhanu Partap Singh, Harish Bhardwaj, Sanjeev Kumar, Gopal Krishan, Ram Singh, Ranbir Singh, Rajat Bandral, Ruchi Jamwal, Shalini Bandral and principals and members of the association also present.
PDP candidate from Kathua Assembly segment, Subash Sharma was the Chief Guest in the closing ceremony who gave away medals to the winners.
