KUPWARA: The first phase of randomisation of EVMs was conducted at NIC Kupwara in presence of political party representatives and concerned Nodal Officers.
The District Election Officer, Kupwara conducted a meeting of representatives of all Political Party in the meeting and first phase of EVM randomization was conducted.
It was given out that for 531 polling stations established to hold the Assembly Elections in the district as many as 631 EVMs were selected for the purpose which include 65 for Karnah, 149 each for Kupwara and Lolab Constituencies, 138 for Handwara and 112 for Langate Assembly segments of district Kupwara with 15 percent additional quota of EVMs and are being segregated for district among the concerned Returning Officers of Karnah, Kupwara, Lolab, Handwara and Langate Constituencies.
Meanwhile, the MCMC met under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner Kupwara and discussed the matters regarding the paid news and political advertisements published in local media.
