First ever North India Karate championship starts in Jammu

JAMMU: Association of Karate Jammu and Kashmir has organised Ist North India Karate championship on 20th and 21st April 2024 at J&K sports council Indore stadium, Bhagwati nagar Jammu.
300 Contestants from 5 different states and UTs are participating in the one of its kind championship. This event shall give a new Phillip to the Karate promotion in J&K as 300 contestants shall give a message of new sports foundation in J&K to the whole of North India. Various contestants won medals in different age weight categories including individual Kata/Kumite event.
In the opening ceremony of the tournament K.K Gupta Chief patron Association of Karate Jammu & Kashmir was present as a chief guest for opening ceremony. An observer from National body Laxman Prasad CEO Karate Association of India was also present. Organising members of Association of Karate Jammu & Kashmir i.e Amit Singh ( Secretary General), Vikas Dhar ( Treasurer), Amit Gupta ( AKJK Adviser ), Surjeet Dogra ( organiser) and Abhimanyu Singh Charak ( Technical Director AKJK)were also present. Students and coaches of all states were very happy and excited for more championships like this in Jammu & Kashmir (U.T).
