It is a good gesture by the BSF that it exchanged sweets with their Pakistani counterparts at Attari border on the occasion of Eid. There is not an iota of doubt that for Indians festivals are the occasions to celebrate life and they simply stop thinking of bad things during the festive time as is clear from the warmth shared at the border during this Eid because exchanging pleasantries with hostile countries is not a common sight in other parts of the world. This is not a new thing that on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha, BSF has offered sweets to Pakistan Rangers at Joint Check Post (JCP) Attari Border. This is a traditional gesture between two border guarding forces. This specially symbolises India’s rich tradition, and sense of goodwill and peace. It is pertinent to mention that Eid Al-Adha, also called the ‘festival of sacrifice’ is celebrated on the 10th day of Dhu al-Hijjah, the 12th month of the Islamic or lunar calendar and it marks the end of the annual Hajj pilgrimage. Eid Al-Adha is an occasion of blissful life and peace, wherein people celebrate leaving aside their past grudges and make meaningful connections with one another. The rich Indian culture bats for peace, joy and bonhomie and that is the reason the BSF has exchanged sweets with their Pakistani counterparts but one thing should be kept in mind that rogue nation Pakistan has a treacherous record and therefore forces along border should never make a mistake to believe the Pakistanis as they had the record of backstabbing and therefore it is advisable that security forces at the borders should always remain on tenterhooks and on toes to counter the nefarious designs of Pakistan as it has lately engaged drones to dent the interests of India and therefore it becomes necessary to keep an eagle eye view along the borders to keep any sort of enemy at bay. The government of Pakistan is always looking for an opportunity to disrupt peace on this side of the IB and LoC therefore India cannot go off guard for even a jiffy because there are so many ways by which Pakistan can dent the interests of the people of the country.
