JAMMU: Her Royal Highness Princess Mahachakri Sirindhorn graced the concluding event of the Festival of India in Thailand – Literary Fest, “Words on Water” held at Chulalongkorn Auditorium, Chulalongkorn University on 25th May 2015.

The event showcased prominent Indian authors – Vikas Swarup, Shobhaa De, Shailendra Gulhati, Arshia Sattar, Namita Gokhale and Amrita Tripathi, and the conversation was moderated by Sanjoy Roy and Puneeta Roy of Teamwork Arts.

Ambassador of India Harsh Vardhan Shringla thanked Her Royal Highness for gracing the occasion, and pointed out that the second edition of the Festival of India in Thailand, 2015, directly reached more than 10,000 people and through social media to more than 100,000 people.

The audience included leading members of Academia including the Chairperson of Chulalongkorn University Council, President of Chulalongkorn University, Permanent Secretary for Culture of the Kingdom of Thailand, Academicians, officials from the Administration, faculty and students of Chulalongkorn and other universities, diplomatic corps, media as well as an enthusiastic Indian community.

These events brought to the conclusion the three-month long Festival of India in Thailand that had ten separate events.

The participant from Jammu, Shailendra Gulhati, is a spiritual author who has written The Yogi and the Snake and Naam Roop- A Tribute to the Divine. His latest book Shiva, The Ultimate Time Traveller was presented to Her Highness on the occasion.

Shailendra’s panel discussion Path of the Mystic was very well received and widely applauded by the 1000 plus audience. The Princess later awarded the writers as a token of recognition.
