FCI contributing significantly in making Jammu youth more skilled: Yudhvir Sethi

JAMMU: The Food Craft Institute (FCI) Jagti today organized a vibrant Dogri food festival, which saw enthusiastic involvement from nearly 500 students from various government schools of district Jammu. The event aimed to promote Dogri culinary traditions and promote skill development among students.
On the occasion, Yudhvir Sethi, MLA of East Jammu, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, with Suba Mehta, Joint Director of the School Education Department, serving as the Guest of Honour.

Speaking on the occasion, Yudhvir Sethi commended FCI for its efforts in empowering Jammu’s youth through skill education. He praised the institution’s role in preserving and promoting the region’s rich Dogra culture, particularly its traditional cuisine. “It is the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make India’s youth skilled and self-reliant, and FCI is playing a crucial role in shaping that vision in Jammu,” he stated.
The MLA Yudhvir Sethi also recalled that FCI Jammu was inaugurated by his wife, Priya Sethi, a senior BJP leader, when he was the Education Minister. He assured the institution of his full support and encouraged further growth, saying, “FCI is contributing significantly to making the youth of Jammu more skilled, while also promoting our rich cultural heritage.”
Earlier, Jyoti Bhatti, Principal of FCI Jammu, highlighted the institute’s significant role in promoting skill education and local cultural heritage. He shared insights into the workings of FCI and emphasized its commitment to providing vocational training and fostering hands-on learning experiences for students.
Later, MLA Yudhvir Sethi, along with faculty and students of FCI, took the Swachh Bharat pledge called by dr Rajinder Singh faculty FCI, reaffirming their commitment to cleanliness and environmental responsibility.
The event concluded with students showcasing their culinary talents, celebrating the rich Dogra heritage, and highlighting the importance of skill development in today’s rapidly evolving world.
