ANANTNAG: FCC Bijbehara and Kanwal Sports Club registered win the league matches of the ongoing G.M Gilkar Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament being played at Higher Secondary School Ground, here on Sunday.
In the first match, FCC Bijbehara outplayed Sajad Sports Bijbehara by five runs.
Batting first, FCC Bijbehara made 179 runs for loss of three wickets in 20 overs. Captain Ajaz Gatoo made quick fire 68 runs of just 41 balls and Showket Wagay made unbeaten 40 runs of 22 deliveries. Zubair Teeli conceded 15/2 in his four-over spell for Sajad Sports.
In reply Sajad Sports Bijbehara’s chase was equally good, but fell short of just five runs in a nail biting game and made 174 runs for loss of two wickets. Muzaffer* made 79 off 52 deliveries and Abdul Rashid chipped with 42 ball 58 runs, though being a losing side Muzaffer was declared Man of the Man for his good performance.
In another match, Kanwal Sports registered 48-run win over Pantha Chowk Eleven.
Kanwal Eleven, batting first, set a huge target of 229 for loss of seven wickets in 20 overs. Shahid played a brilliant inning of 77 runs off 42 balls while Mudasir equally played well and scored 67 runs off 32 balls. In reply, Pantha Chowk Elevan was bundled out for 181. Muzamil made 51 runs off 27 balls while Muzafer made 27. Shahid for his match winning performance was declared Man of the Match.
