RAJOURI: Enraged over alleged bovine smuggling bid, some unidentified persons assaulted a father-son duo on Jammu-Poonch Highway here at Muradpur on intervening night of 3rd-4th March.
According to a report, Abdul Ghani (64), son of Ilam Din and his son Shafiq Ahmed (26), both residents of Chandimarh Surankote, at present Ward No. 10 Rajouri were severely beaten up by some unknown persons while they were transporting a pair of bulls towards their home. The injured were later admitted to District Hospital Rajouri.
Meanwhile, Shafiq Ahmad was referred to GMC&H Jammu for specialised treatment as he received head injury.
A case vide FIR No. 113/2016 under Sections 307, 341, 323 and 147 RPC has been registered and inquest proceedings have been initiated.
