Farooq bags Salal Kesari Dangal title

JAMMU: State wrestler, Farooq from Sarore in Jammu, clinched the Salal Kesari Dangal title after he defeated Nisar Ahmed of Doda in the main bout held at Trentha in district Reasi.
Dangal was organised by Trentha Dangal Dangal Committee in collaboration with J and K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the overall supervision of President J and K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma, Shakeel Ahmed Magray and Varinder Kumar.
The SDPO Reasi, Mohan Lal Sharma was Chief Guest, who along with Shiv Kumar Sharma gave away cash prizes. Pawan Kumar Sahu (DySP), Manager HR NHPC Jugal Kishore Sharma and secretary Reasi District Indian Style Wrestling Association, Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri) were Guests of Honour.
Also present were Raj Kumar Sharma, Raj Kumar Sharma, Kesari Singh, Mohd. Latif, Balwan Singh, Murad Ali (all Sarpanch), Virender Pandoh and veteran wrestler, Karam Din.
In all, 73 bouts were decided in this dangal. Earlier, winner of title bout, Farooq was awarded with cash prize prize of Rs 6,000 while runners-up, Nisar Ahmed given away Rs 5,000.
Members and technical officials, who helped for the conduct of the event included Shakeel Ahmed Magray, Ashok Kumar, Chanchal Singh, Varinder Kumar, Onkar Singh, Gian Chand, Bhuri Singh, Panch Bashir Ahmed, Sarpanch Liakar Ali, Naresh Kumar (Pappu), Deepak Wazir, Kulbir Singh, Rajinder Kumar, Nazir Ahmed, Retd. Captain Lehar Singh and Mohd. Fareed.
The second main bout was won by Palla of Himachal Pardesh who defeated Roshan Lal Sharma of J and K Police while Bobari of Sarore defeated Sagar of Merrut (UP) for the third main bout. The fourth bout won by Amir Khan of Delhi who beat Raj Kumar of Delhi and the fifth bout fought between Lallu of Bajrangi Akhara Jammu and Akram of Chouadi ended in a draw.
Others Results: Balwan Singh of Mahore beat Mahavir of HP, Dinu of Kathua beat Lal Hussain of J and K Police, Hossiar Singh of J and K Police beat Balli of Domana, Balwan Singh of Mohore beat Javed of Merrut (UP), Sahil of Delhi beat Jagdev Singh of Narkote, Niaz Ali of Domana beat Vikas of Delhi, Raju of Delhi beat Parveen of J and K Police and Raj Singh of Mohore beat Kartar Singh of Bakal.
