NOWSHERA: Farmers of Nowshera Sub District have been pushed into a difficult situation due to the poor planning of the Agriculture Department which led to the acute shortage of wheat seed during this small sowing opportunity.
The farmers who had all the time been praying for rains have been blessed with an opportunity of few days to complete the sowing of wheat but are confronted to a man-made problem of non-availability of sufficient wheat seeds at this crucial time which is sure to deprive them of Rabi crop.
Capt Ashok Kumar Sarpanch, Sarpanch Bindu Choudhary, Raj Kumar and Ashok Sharma Chief Organiser Citizen Forum strongly criticised the Agriculture Department for non-availability of the wheat seeds because the maximum population of this scattered area along the border is dependent on agriculture. They appealed to the Director of Agriculture to dispatch sufficient quantity of wheat seeds on top priority because the sowing has already been delayed.
