Farmers’ deputation submits memo to Bukhari

JAMMU: A deputation of RS Pura famers met Minister for Horticulture, Bhasarat Ahmed Bukhari during his visit to RS Pura and submitted a memorandum of demands of the farmer community.
The deputation, led by Comrade Kishore, putforth issues being faced by the farmers before the minister and apprised him that there is no shed available for farmer community for selling their produce in Vegetable Market, Narwal Jammu, whereas the sheds which were meant for farmers in Narwal Market are encroached by traders.
The deputation demanded revival of Kissan Mandis in Jammu province and creation of new sheds at Trikuta Nagar, Channi Himmat, Gole Market Gandhi Nagar, A.G Officer Satwari/Roop Nagar and Jagti Township for selling their produce, provision for protection of farmers is missing in APMR Act which needed revival and amendments and creation of committee comprising farmers, traders and department officials for early redressal of grievances of farmers of Jammu division.
The minister gave a patient hearing to the deputation and assured for early redressal of demands. The deputation comprised of Bunti, Bansi and Daljeet Singh.
