JAMMU: Department of Agriculture, Zone Bhalwal, organised awareness camps at Panchayats Ghaink and Mathwar of zone Bhalwal in which hundreds of farmers participated. The camps were presided over by K.K Gupta SDAO Marh.
The camps were organised on the directions of Director Agriculture Dr S.S Jamwal. In the camps, farmers made aware about the various schemes of Agriculture Department with the emphasis to adopt modern technology, diversification of agriculture, moisture conservation with the concept of per drop more crop, horticulture etc. The farmers appreciated the efforts of Agriculture Department and requested to organize such camps before each cropping season.
During the camp, the vegetable seeds were also distributed among the farmers.
The officers of the Agriculture Department who delivered lectures include Surinder Dhar Subject Matter Specialist, Amrik Singh, Mohinder Kour, Vandana Kotwal, Rajan Nanavati, Vivek Mahajan and Mohan Singh Salathia all JAEOs; Jaswinder Singh, Anil Gupta, Vijay Koul , Babita Raina , Vimarsh, Samant Chopra, Raman Dutta, Varun, Vishal, Meenakshi, Sudakshna, Sandeep and Sindhu Jyoti all VAEA’s and Sarpanch of the area Kuldip Raj.
