FANS submits memo to CM, projects issues of NIT students

JAMMU: Forum for Awareness of National Security (FANS) submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti highlighting the plight of non-Kashmiri students of National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar.
National General Secretary (Org), FANS, Golak Bihari Rai told reporters, “We note with grave concern the plight of the non-Kashmiri students of the NIT Srinagar, many of whom fled the campus and are still not finding the atmosphere of the premises safe enough to return and complete their respective courses.”
In memorandum, he said they demanded an immediate suspension of the Director Registrar of NIT Srinagar, transfer of Superintendent of Police, the Special Superintendent of Police and the Commissioner of Police, who have been complicit in the violence, investigation of the incidents on the campus by a sitting Judge of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court, the safety and security of the affected students and their examinations must be examined by competent teachers not belonging to the Kashmir Valley.
Rai expressed hope that CM will come to the rescue of the affected students and also play a part in their efforts of national integration. Reshma Singh National Secretary of the Forum and other members were also present in the press conference.
