Expenditure observer, Police, CAPF, Armed Police carry out route march ahead of LS Polls in Jammu

JAMMU: Various route marches were conducted by South Zone Police of Jammu District under the supervision of SSP Jammu, Vinod Kumar and SP South Jammu, Ajay Sharma in the Jurisdictions of PS Gandhi Nagar, PS Bagh-e-Bahu, PS Bahu Fort, PS Channi, PP Nehru Market, PP Sainik Colony, PP Narwal and PP Chatta.
All the territorial officers including SDPOs, SHOs and ICPPs participated in the march along with Armed and CAPF officers/officials.
The route marches were planned to pass through the areas where wine shops could be checked for violations of standing ECI instructions.
Route marches are part of standard security measures to ensure safety and order during elections.
The route planning of these marches helped in familiarizing security personnel with the area and enhancing their readiness to handle any potential security threats during the electoral process besides instilling confidence among the electoral masses to come forward and vote without any fear or favour.
Later, the Expenditure Observer, 5-Jammu Parliamentary Constituency, Samatha Mullamudi also joined the route March and appreciated the presence of forces on ground to stop the misuse of money to influence the voters. She also appreciated the role of security forces through such route marches which can further deter criminal elements and instill confidence among the public, encouraging greater participation and upholding the democratic principles of free and fair voting.
