KATHUA: Continuing with their efforts to check the entry of banned items into the State, the sleuths of Excise Department under the supervision of DC Excise Rajesh Sharma, at Toll Post Basohli foiled a bid to smuggle polythene.
About 16.5 Kg of Polythene was seized from a Private vehicle entering into the State through Atal Setu.
As per sources, a Alto car bearing registration number JK08D-6250 reported at the Toll Post. On physical checking, it was found loaded with 16.5 Kg of Polythene. The evaders tried to import banned polythene into the State. The vehicle along with seized polythene was later on handed over to the Pollution Control Board, for further action under relevant rules.
