RAJOURI: The excise sleuths of Rajouri – Poonch Range conducted number of raids at different places in district Rajouri and recovered large quantity of Lahan and illicit liquor.
In order to curb the menace of illegal ldistillation and sale of illicit liquor, the sleuths of Excise Range Rajouri led by Mohd Parvaiz Excise Inspector under the supervision of Farooq Choudhary, Excise and Taxation Officer conducted series of raids in village Argi, Dhalori, Bandian, Kalle, Beri Gala, Keri, Chetyar Shahpur and Doongi area. These raids were conducted under the directions of Excise Commissioner T. Angchuk and Ghanshyam Singh Deputy Excise Commissioner Jammu.
The team arrested four persons identified as Shamboo Nah son of Nanak Ram resident of Dalouri, Mohd Ayaan son of Mohd Ghulam resident of Rahyon, Rashpal Singh son of Ajmer Singh resident of Kha No 2 and Ajmer Singh son of Tunda Singh resident of Siote.
The team recovered 600 kg of Lahan and 40 litres of illicit liquor which was destroyed on the spot.
