KATHUA: The Excise sleuths on Monday conducted raids in several villages of Kathua District and in the process destroyed over 1,200 Kg Lahan.
The Excise sleuths of Kathua Excise Range conducted series of raids in villages Keengdayal, Sitdyal, Khanwal, Banyari, Parsochak, Upper and Lower Saktachak and adjoining areas falling in Kathua District and destroyed 1,250 Kg Lahan and 25 bottles of illicit liquor prepared from Lahan. The raids were held under the command of ETO, Kathua Excise Range, Sandeep Gupta
The Department has initiated multi-pronged strategy to arrest the menace of illicit distillation of liqour. “Inspection teams have been activated and there shall be no laxity for those who violate the law”, a handout of department stated.
