Excise sleuths conduct raids in Kathua, destroy 2000 kg Lahan, 50 ltrs illicit liquor

KATHUA: Excise Eradication Wing on Tuesday destroyed 2000 kilograms Lahan and 50 liters illicit liquor during different raids carried out to arrest the menace of illicit distillation and sale of liquor in Excise Range Kathua.
As per official spokesman, on the directions of the Excise Commissioner Subash Chander Chibber and Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive) Jammu, Sanjay Bhatt and under the supervision of ETO Eradication Saniya Malik acting upon specific information, a team of Excise Eradication Wing led by Inspectors Razi Ahmad, Mohd Rafi, Shalini Mehra, Barun Sharma raided the, Kangdyal, Chack Drab Khan, Mai Chack, Padyari, villages of Kathua district.
During raids, 2000 kilograms of Lahan and 50 liters of illicit liquor, which is highly hazardous and injurious to health, was recovered by the raiding team from state land ad later destroyed on the spot.
