Excise sleuth seized 600 Kgs of Lahan, destroys it

JAMMU: In order to curb the menace of illicit distillation of liquor, illegal smuggling of liquor from other States, the sleuth of Excise Department seized 600 Kgs of Lahan.
Under the active supervision of Excise Commissioner, J and K, T. Angchuk and Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Jammu, Shahid Saleem, the raids are being conducted in the entire Kathua and Samba Districts to arrest the menace of illicit distillation of liquor and other violations.
In the process more than six hundred kilo grams of Lahan has been recovered and destroyed in the Kathua by the excise sleuths under the command of ETO, Kathua Excise Range Sandeep Gupta. The team conducted surprise raids in Parsochak, Ladwal, Sunjwan and other adjoining areas of the district to arrest the menace of illicit distillation.
The J&K Excise Department has re-energized and activated the Eradication and Enforcement Wing of Jammu to act as flying squad to take action, as provided under law, on any complaint regarding violation of Excise Law.
