POONCH: Excise Department organised one day cricket match at College Ground Poonch on Tuesday.
The match was organised under Anti Drug Abuse Campaign of the department and theme of the event was Avoid Drugs Play Sports. The event was organised in collaboration with Rahul Dravid Cricket Club(RDCC) Poonch, around 100 players participated.
During two enthralling matches played, players displayed their skills. The match was organised on the direction of Excise Commissioner J&K Subash Chander Chibber and Deputy Excise Commissioner Executive Sanjay Kumar Bhat and under supervision of ETO Rajouri Poonch Range Suraj Parkash.
The Chief Guest on the occasion was Tariq Khan, International Volleyball Coach and Member of Sports Authority of India and Chairman of Shaheed Manjit Singh Volleyball Club Poonch. He is legendary coach who has mentored volleyball players who are representing India and source of inspiration for young players. He stressed players to avoid drugs and make career in sports.
Other guests include renowned artist Pardeep Khanna, S.S Baghi, Imtiaz Salaria and founder of Rahul Dravid Cricket Club Parvaiz Ahmed Afrid. The chief guest distributed prizes among players.
