KATHUA: Excise Department on Tuesday destroyed 200 kilograms of Lahan and recovered eight bottles, 60 pouches of illicit liquor while conducting raids in Kathua District.
Under the active supervision of the Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Jammu, Mohammed Shahid Saleem, the Excise Team Kathua led by Arun Kumar Inspector Excise under the command of Excise and Taxation Officer, Excise Range Kathua, Sandeep Gupta and Excise and Taxation Officer, Eradication and Enforcement Wing Jammu, Suresh Sharma raided Persochak and Sunjwan areas of Kathua District to arrest the menace of illicit distillation of liquor.
In the process, more than 200 kilograms of Lahan, eight bottles and 60 pouches of illicit liquor were recovered. The raided team destroyed 200 Kg Lahan on the spot.
