Seizes, destroys 7,000 kg of Lahan, 30 ltrs of illicit liquor

JAMMU: On the directions of the Excise Commissioner, Pankaj Kumar Sharma, and under supervision of Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Jammu Ramkesh Kumar, and ETO South Ankit Gupta, a team of Excise Range South comprising of Inspectors Dheeraj Kumar, Sub Inspectors Sanjeev Lalhotra, and Ajay Kumar, Driver Praveen Kumar Excise guards Kamal Kumar and Hitesh Sharma on Wednesday raided Kothe Marolain, Baadi Pur, Krel Manhasa, Bulande Kothe, Kalyana, Chak, Devi Garh adjoing areas of Bishnah and R S Pura Sub Ranges to arrest the menace of illicit distillation of liquor.
As a result of the operation, 7000 Kg of “Lahan,” a key ingredient in the production of illicit liquor, and 30 litres of illicit liquor were seized and subsequently destroyed on the state land.
