KATHUA: Excise Department on Tuesday seized more than 350 Kg Lahan and 20 bottles of illicit liquor while conducting various raids here.
The excise team Kathua under the command of ETO, Sandeep Gupta and ETO Eradication and Enforcement Wing Jammu, Suresh Sharma raided the Kundechak, Tanda and Chakbhardambra areas of Kathua District to arrest the menace of illicit distillation. More than 350 hundred kilograms of Lahan, 20 bottles of illicit liquor made from Lahan, which is highly injurious to health and one working still were recovered by the raiding team which was later destroyed by the team on the spot. Further, in district Kathua the Excise Team Kathua and Eradication wing Jammu in a joint operation with Municipal Committee Kathua, Floriculture Department, Kathua and District Administration Kathua conducted Bhang destruction in Kathua city. The team destroyed Bhang on three Kanals of land.
